New York Yankees fans can finally relax after receiving good news about Jazz Chisholm’s elbow injury. Despite initial concerns that Chisholm might need UCL surgery, it’s now confirmed that he won’t require a lengthy absence.
Chisholm, who was placed on the 10-day IL on August 14 due to a left elbow sprain, had confidently stated that he would return shortly after the minimum IL stint. True to his word, he’s set to make his comeback after missing just eight games.
Since joining the Yankees, Chisholm has primarily played third base, a new position for the 26-year-old who has previously played second base and center field. In just 14 games with New York, he’s slashed .257/.328/.445 with seven home runs and 11 RBI. For the season, Chisholm has tallied 20 home runs and 27 stolen bases across 115 games.
The Yankees indeed plan to activate Jazz Chisholm Jr from the IL prior to tomorrow’s game, per source. Once feared for UCL surgery, he hardly missed any time

Chisholm is expected to be activated before the Yankees’ game against the Colorado Rockies on August 23. As part of the roster adjustments, Oswald Peraza is likely to be sent back to Triple-A.
