Despite concentrating on Team USA’s pursuit of gold at the 2024 Olympics, Stephen Curry took some time to support the U.S. women’s volleyball team in their opening game against China. Curry wanted to offer words of wisdom and encouragement to the athletes before their match.

Curry has been making the most of his first Olympics this year. Yesterday, he shared a fantastic video that gave fans an inside look at the Olympic opening ceremony, including pictures with members of Team USA and other athletes from the U.S. Olympic contingent.
Curry has made his mark with Team USA at the Olympics. Starting in their opener against Serbia, Curry scored 11 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists, leading Team USA to a dominant 110-84 victory. Next, Team USA will focus on their upcoming game against South Sudan, which they face tomorrow.
After the challenge South Sudan posed in their Olympic showcase game, Curry and Team USA will be determined not to be caught off guard again. South Sudan has proven they are a formidable opponent, especially after their win over Puerto Rico.
Curry will be heavily relied upon to have a big game against South Sudan, as his outside shooting and scoring will be crucial against a team with the size and interior presence to challenge some of the best big men the U.S. has.
**Is Stephen Curry Team USA’s MVP?**
Stephen Curry is invaluable to Team USA at the Olympics. His shooting ability and passing skills make the team incredibly dangerous, as Curry can spot up from three or pass the ball to a teammate for a smart basketball play, disrupting the opponent’s defense.
Curry is coming off a challenging year with the Warriors. Despite averaging 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, the Warriors only made it to the play-in tournament and were eliminated by the Pelicans. This is a sharp contrast to two years ago when the Warriors were the NBA champions.
With the disappointment of his NBA season still fresh in his mind, Curry is eager to compensate by winning his first Olympic gold medal. This is Curry’s first, and presumably last, opportunity to represent Team USA at the Olympics, and he is determined to make the most of it.
With Steve Kerr as the head coach, Curry has an advantage over many of his teammates, as he understands Kerr’s playing style and offensive-defensive schemes better than almost anyone else on the team. If Curry can be the offensive juggernaut we know he can be during the tournament, Team USA has a strong chance to secure their fifth consecutive gold medal this year.
